Request For Proposal for Food Security Enhancement Project in Fort Worth, TX

Executive Summary

Guarav & Sharon Srivastava Family Foundation presents an opportunity to implement technologies purposed to produce more foods by creating plant varieties with advanced traits and optimizing inputs required to improve agriculture’s productivity. We write this Request for Proposal to attract organizations with the capacity to produce effective agricultural machinery and advanced food agricultural inputs. We also purpose to attract the attention of investors who would be willing to set up food stores in various regions in Texas to reduce the negative impact of food deserts.
Guarav & Sharon Srivastava Family Foundation was founded in 2015, and its key objective is to serve vulnerable and marginalized communities around the globe who do not have access to the same basic resources available in the United States. The organization was founded from the understanding that food insecurity is one of the adversities affecting communities on the global scale.
Our objective is to advance the implementation of food and energy security strategies in the communities within the United States as well as those in other countries. As proud Americans, we are dedicated to reaching out to those of our own in vulnerable conditions as well as those in their own countries who cannot access the basic life fundamentals. We majorly focus on food and energy securities across various communities around the globe.
As it this moment, Guarav & Sharon Srivastava Family Foundation does not receive any funds/grants from the local, state, or federal governments.
The budget range for this project is $100,000 to $300,000

Background

The organization was founded in 2015 by Guarav and Sharon, who aimed to serve both communities in the United States and those in other countries. The organization was built on research studies regarding energy sources and security. Preliminary studies have proven that in 50 years’ time, our energy sources, especially oil sources, will be depleted. Additionally, many people in the contemporary world are hungry; if this remains unattended, more will be hungry in the future. In the future, the organization looks forward to bringing business leaders, policymakers, and visionary government officials into its operation.

Project Description

In our food security project, we aim to engage the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure that we offer quality and harmless food and excellent agricultural production methods. The first achievement to help us in achieving our objective is looking for innovative ways to get organizations that will voluntarily offer us agricultural inputs and appropriate machinery such as moisture sensors, robots, temperature sensors, GPS technologies, and aerial images. We will also appreciate organizations that will offer us the above agricultural innovative technologies at subsidized prices. Our project will also engage the communities in relevant education on various aspects of food and nutrition. First, we will focus on creating awareness of the essentiality of safe food since we need to enhance healthy communities. Secondly, we will emphasize the need to grow food safely, where we will primarily focus on the significance of maximum agricultural production and the need to adopt environmentally friendly agricultural methods. Lastly, yet importantly, we will need to encourage the communities to adopt safe food storage strategies.
We will focus on reaching about 10,000 people in Texas. Our prior survey indicated that this is a state adversely affected by food insecurity, majorly because of the measure of the food deserts thereof. We will therefore need to help the communities thereof learn the need to grow their own food and avail them of the most relevant options they could use to address this problem.

The challenge of the undersupply of healthy food materials in conjunction with the lack of access to quality healthcare affects low-income communities, which are mainly Latinos and African Americans. Dallas Fort Worth area has been adversely affected by the food deserts, and most of the strategies that have been put in place to address the issue have not been productive.

If the project progresses as planned, we will have the capacity to attract more organizations to support similar projects in the future.
